  • Bendix data, including Bendix Data Recorder, ADAS systems like Fusion and Wingman
  • Wabco data, including onLane and onGuard systems
  • What's coming in the future from Bendix
  • Detroit Assurance Systems
  • Wabco, Bendix, and Haldex ABS ECUs from trailers
  • Eaton and Allison transmission data
  • Data that can be gathered by Law Enforcement Officers using equipment that your city may already own or free software
  • Data other than ECM data that can be retrieved from Mack, Volvo, and PACCAR

This course will be taught by Steve Anderson and James Loftis. 

Steve retired from the Ontario Provincial Police with twenty-three years of service.  Steve has been reconstructing crashes since 2006 and has had a hand in over 550 reconstructions.  Steve has assisted in over 100 live instrumented crash tests involving vehicles, motorcycles, heavy vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, and barrier systems.  

Steve is ACTAR accredited and was a past representative and assistant representative to the ACTAR Governing Board of Directors.  Steve has been qualified numerous times as an expert in the field of Heavy Vehicle Event Data Recorders.  Steve is a member-producer of the Society of Automotive Engineers and served on the Standard Truck and Bus Event Data Recorder Committee.

James Loftis retired from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) with twenty-three years of service.  James founded the Traffic Homicide Unit at OHP and served as the commander upon retiring.  During his time with OHP, James reconstructed over 500 crashes and implemented a crash investigation training program where he trained hundreds of troopers and police officers.  

James has over 20 years of experience in crash reconstruction and is accredited by ACTAR.  James has testified numerous times and has been qualified as an expert in both state and federal courts.  He is a member of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance and serves on both the Crash Data and Investigation Standards and Training Committees.

16 ACTAR credits will be available (application pending), and the cost for the application will be covered by IATAI.
